Contractor Agreement

This agreement applies to contractors receiving project referrals through HANDiY.

Version v1 · Effective May 30, 2026

Independent business

Contractors operate as independent businesses. Nothing in this agreement creates an employer / employee, partnership, or joint venture relationship with HANDiY.

Contractors are not paid by HANDiY

HANDiY does not pay contractors. Payment for the underlying project is arranged directly between the contractor and the homeowner.

Lead commission

Contractors pay HANDiY a commission of 10% of the accepted project value for each lead they accept, with a minimum fee of $20 per lead. The commission is charged when the contractor accepts the lead.

Homeowners do not pay referral fees

Homeowners are never charged a contractor referral fee. The commission is paid by the contractor.

Release of homeowner contact details

Homeowner contact information is released to the contractor only after the contractor's lead-fee payment to HANDiY succeeds.

Accepted project value

Contractors must accept leads at an accurate, good-faith project value. The accepted value cannot be reduced or modified after acceptance without admin approval. Misrepresenting project value to lower commission is a breach of this agreement.

Anti-circumvention

Contractors agree not to use HANDiY leads to contact homeowners outside the platform for the purpose of avoiding commission fees, including (but not limited to) cancelling the platform job and re-booking the same project directly, soliciting future work off-platform, or referring the homeowner to a related business to evade fees. Circumvention may result in immediate suspension, recovery of unpaid commissions, and removal from the platform.
